Customs Administration exceeded revenue target by Rs.8 billion 790 million
The Department of Customs has collected Rs.8 billion 790 million more revenue than the target in fiscal the year 2066/67 (16th.July, 2009 to 16th. July, 2010). This is an increase of Rs.22 billion 420 million (36.70%) compared to the corresponding last fiscal year. For the fiscal year 2066/67, the Department collected Rs.83 billion 460 million revenue over the target Rs.74 billion 670 million under three tax headings, i.e., Customs Duty, VAT on import and Excise on import . It is reported that Rs.37 billion 010 million was collected under Customs Duty, Rs.37 billion 920 on VAT on import and Rs.10 billion 520 million in Excise Duty on import. The Department has also initiated several reform programs during the last fiscal year. This is stated in a press release issued by the Department.
